Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) was approved for offering the first “master’s degree program in technology transfer” in China in October 2021, and the program will be undertaken by SJTU-BOC Institute of Technology and Finance under Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM). The Master of Technology Transfer program sets up two concentrations: strategic technology planning, and technological innovation financing, mainly for key industries of national development, such as integrated circuit, biomedicine, artificial intelligence, electronic information, life and healthcare, automobile, high-end equipment, advanced materials, etc., so as to fill the gap of talent shortage in technology transfer.

Thanks to the combination of superior academic subjects of SJTU and top-tier industry resources, the Master of Technology Transfer program aims to cultivate leading inter-disciplinary talents who can systematically master the technology transfer theories and the financing knowledge of innovative high-tech enterprises with abilities such as strategic planning of technologies, commercialization of cutting-edge technologies, two-way integration of technology and finance, and research and analysis of specific industries so as to provide strong support for building national strength in science and technology.

2022 SJTU Admissions for
Postgraduate Program of Master of Technology Transfer

The implementation of an innovation-driven development strategy is critical to improving economic quality and enhancing the global competitiveness of China's industrial chain. To promote the in-depth integration of scientific and technological innovation and capital market, advance the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and transform them into productive forces, we should not only deliver scientific and technological innovation results constantly, but also play a role in precisely aligning with the financial market and effectively providing professional technical support.

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is proactively exploring and facilitating the new pilot initiative to apply the scientific and technological results and establish a talent training mechanism for Master of Technology Transfer based on its abundant disciplinary advantages and talent training strength, while aiming to cultivate a group of high-level excellent professionals in technology transfer to resonate with the needs of the country and the industries.

I. Admission Plan

SJTU adheres to the socialist orientation of organizing schools and implements the national education policy with a focus on serving the major national development strategies. In the principles of on-demand enrolment, comprehensive measurement, selective admission and priority to quality, the admission plan for 2022 is expected to enroll about 100 students, with part-time study mode and directional enrolment applied. The actual number of enrolments can be adjusted based on applicable policies and the source of students.

 
II. Majors for Admission

The applicant shall select "Engineering Management" (Major Code: 125601) for application, and choose the college based on the individual situation of each candidate, provided that "technology transfer" must be indicated in the "Remark" column to ensure that the follow-up re-examination and admission are carried out in accordance with the special admission plan of technology transfer. SJTU has started the procedures for confirmation and establishment of the master's degree program in technology transfer, and students enrolled will be transferred to the Master of Technology Transfer program at Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM).

At present, colleges and schools of SJTU offering "Engineering Management" include: School of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Civil Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, School of Material Science and Engineering, School of Life Science and Biotechnology, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, School of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Please indicate "Technology Transfer" in the "Remark" column of the Online Registration System of the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination of the Ministry of Education.

 
III. Application Requirements
  1.  Citizen of the People's Republic of China who supports the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with good moral character and complies with laws and regulations.
  2.  Graduate with a bachelor's degree recognized by China, or anyone with a master's or doctoral degree.
  3.  Graduate with a bachelor's degree and over three years working experience, or anyone with a master's or doctoral degree and over two years working experience. Anyone with professional background in science, engineering, biology, agriculture and medicine and also engaged in the application of research results and technology transfer is preferred.
  4.  Health conditions in line with the medical examination requirements set by the state and the enrolment institution.
 
IV. Application

The application is divided into two stages: online application and online confirmation (on-site confirmation), both of which are indispensable.

(I) Online application requirements
  1.  Deadline for online application: October 5 to October 25, 2021, 9:00-22:00 every day.
  2.   The applicant shall check the application instructions on the "Chinese Graduate Admissions Information" (Official website: http://yz.chsi.com.cn, Education website: https://yz.chsi.cn) and make the application according to the online announcement and requirements of the Ministry of Education, provincial education enrolment and examination institutions, entrance examination application unit and admission school. During the application period, the applicant can modify the online application information or refill in the information, provided that only one piece of valid application information may be retained for each applicant. After the deadline, no more application or modification is allowed.
  3.  Applicant shall apply for only one major with only one admission school.
  4.  The applicant's academic education information will be verified online during the application, and the applicant can check the verification result online. The applicant can also query his/her own academic education information at the "China Higher Education Student Information" (https://www.chsi.com.cn) either before or during the application. Anyone who fails in the online verification of his/her academic education shall complete the verification before confirming the application.
  5.   The applicant shall carefully understand and make the application strictly in accordance with the application requirements and relevant policies and shall be solely responsible for his/her failure in online confirmation (on-site confirmation), taking examination (including preliminary examination and re-examination) or admission due to his/her non-qualification for the application requirements or relevant policies.
(II) Requirements for online confirmation (on-site confirmation)
  1.  Each applicant shall check and confirm his/her online application information online or at the place designated by the entrance examination application site within the specified time limit, with no confirmation available afterwards. The specific time for online confirmation (on-site confirmation) will be determined and released by each provincial education and entrance examination institution in accordance with the national enrolment schedule and local application situation.
  2.  During the online confirmation (on-site confirmation), the applicant shall submit his/her resident's ID card, certificates of academic education and degree as well as the online application number to be verified by the staff at the entrance examination application site. The applicant is required to sign the "Commitment Letter of Honesty for Applicants" and comply with relevant provisions and requirements. If any applicant is found to have forged any document, the public security organ will be notified, and the forged document will be temporarily seized as required by the public security organ.
  3.  All applicants shall carefully check and confirm their online application information. The application information shall not be modified once confirmed by the applicant who shall bear all consequences caused by his/her mistake in misinformation. Any applicant whose application information is inconsistent with the application requirements will not be allowed to take the examination.
  4.  Applicant shall pay the application fee as required.
  5.  The applicant shall have his/her own image and other electronic information recorded in accordance with the requirements of the entrance examination application site. Any applicant with incorrect or falsified image will be disqualified from the examination and admission and even the academic registration.
  6.  The applicant shall log onto the website of "Chinese Graduate Admissions Information" with username and password applied online, and download and print the admission card from December 18 to December 27, 2021. The admission card shall be printed on white paper of A4 size, and no alternation or writing is allowed on both sides. The applicant shall participate in the preliminary examination and re-examination with this admission card and a valid resident ID card.
 
V. Examination

1. The National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (NPEE) is composed of the preliminary examination and the re-examination, both of which are important parts of NPEE. The preliminary examination is organized by the state and the re-examination is organized by the enrolment institution.

2. The preliminary examination of 2022 NPEE will be held on December 25, 2021 (8:30-11:30 and 14:30-17:00), which will be a written test.

3. Re-examination, as an important part of NPEE and a necessary session in postgraduate enrolment, is used to examine the innovation ability and professional and comprehensive quality of the applicant. The applicant will not be enrolled when disqualified in the re-exam. In general, competitive re-examination is adopted and the admission school will independently determine and announce the proportion of applicants qualified for re-examination in advance, which is usually no less than 120%. The political theory examination will be held during the re-examination.

4. The university determines the minimum score for re-examination according to the admission plan and talent selection requirements, and the admission department will determine the eligible score of preliminary examination (not lower than the minimum score for the re-examination of the university) and other academic requirements for re-examination based on the source of student and enrolment plan.

 
VI. Qualification Examination

Before the re-examination, SJTU will strictly check the original copy of application materials of the applicant, including resident ID card, certificates of academic education and degree, verification results of academic education and registration, and student ID card, as well as the qualification of the applicant, and any unqualified applicant will not be allowed for re-exam. If any problem is identified in the verification of the applicant's academic education (registration), the applicant shall complete such verification within the time specified by the admission school. The applicant unqualified for the application conditions shall not apply for the examination.

Re-examination candidate shall apply for the verification of academic education on the website of "China Higher Education Student Information" (www.chsi.com.cn) at the Student's Profile, and then download and print the verification report of academic education (registration). In case of failure, please apply for a written verification as required to get the verification report of academic education (registration). During the qualification review, the re-examination applicant shall present the following materials: (1) the second-generation resident ID card, (2) verification report of academic education (registration), and (3) certificates of academic education and degree (All documents require both the original copy and one photocopy). If the applicant makes an application for examination with overseas certificates of academic education and degree, then a verification report issued by Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) of the Ministry of Education shall be submitted for qualification examination.

 
VII. Physical Examination

The physical examination will be organized by the admission school after the pre-admission of the applicant. The admission school shall propose its physical examination requirements in accordance with the "Guideline on Physical Examination for Admission to General Higher Education Institutions" (JX [2003] No. 3) issued by the Ministry of Education, the former Ministry of Health and the China Disabled Persons' Federation, and the "Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education and the General Office of the Ministry of Health on the Cancellation of Hepatitis B Detection in Physical Examination for Admission to General Higher Education Institutions (JXT [2010] No.2)), while taking into account the actual situation of the majors for admission. The physical examination of SJTU will be carried out after admission.

 
VIII. Assessment of Ideological and Political Quality and Morality

As the assessment of ideological and political quality and morality is a crucial measure to ensure the quality of new students, SJTU implements the assessment strictly following the principle of seeking truth from facts, and those who fail in the ideological and moral assessment will not be admitted. The assessment of ideological and political quality and morality mainly aims to assess the applicant's actual performance, which shall cover the applicant's political attitude, ideological status, moral quality, law-abiding, honesty and trustworthiness. During the re-examination, the admission school organizes departments responsible for ideological and political affairs, admission department, and relevant mentors to have an interview with the applicant to learn about his/her ideological and political situation directly. The assessment of an applicant's ideological and political quality and morality may also be made by means of letter-based investigation or external investigation.

Once the pre-admission name list is determined, the admission school shall send a letter to the applicant’s organization or employer to acquire his/her personnel files (or comments on file review) and other information on his/her performance, so as to comprehensively assess the ideological, political and moral situation of the applicant. Information on an applicant's performance obtained by letter-based investigation shall be stamped by the HR or political affairs department of his/her organization or employer.

 
IX. Admission
  1.  Under the unified leadership of the leading group of postgraduate admission, the proposed admission name list will be determined in accordance with relevant admission policies of the Ministry of Education, the supplementary regulations of the provincial higher education admission committee, the admission plan and measures on re-examination and admission of the admission school and the scores of preliminary examination and re-examination of the applicant, while taking into account the applicant's ideological and political performance, and physical and mental health conditions. Any applicant who fails the re-examination, physical examination or ideological and moral assessment will not be admitted.
  2.  For part-time students, no accommodation is available, and the admission will be a directional employment type without any transfer of household register or archives, and generally no scholarship is provided.
  3.  Any issue arising between the applicant and his/her organization or employer due to his/her application for the graduate entrance examination shall be resolved by the applicant himself/herself. If the applicant fails to take part in the re-examination or cannot be admitted as a result of such issue, the admission school shall not assume any responsibility.
  4.  Any applicant who makes any violation in application or examination will be punished in accordance with the "Punishment Measures for Violation of Regulations in State Education Examinations" and the "Regulations on the Administration of Admission of National Master's Degree Postgraduates". Anyone who engages in fraud will be disqualified from applying for the examination, admission or academic registration according to relevant regulations, once confirmed.

2. Background assessment

Through the background assessment, a background score will be granted based on the applicant’s online application information and then the eligibility for an early interview will be announced. Contents of the background assessment cover education and working background, foreign language proficiency and additional information (entrepreneurial experience, overseas work or study experience, local or municipal award, qualification certificate, etc.).

A “one-vote-pass system” will be applied in the background assessment (i.e., those who meet any of the following criteria will be qualified for the early interview immediately):

  • In order to encourage the application of those with outstanding contributions to the country, the “one-vote-pass system” is applied to any applicant who has received major awards, such as National Model Worker, National May 1st Labor Medal, National March 8th Red-banner Pacesetter;
  • In order to encourage the application of those with independent core technology, the “one-vote-pass system” is applied to any applicant who has been granted national invention patent as the first or second inventor;
  • In order to encourage the application of those who start their own businesses, the “one-vote-pass system” is applied to any applicant who independently owns 25% or more shares in a medium-sized company;
  • In order to encourage the application of those who enjoy learning at work, the “one-vote-pass system” is applied to any applicant with GMAT score of 630 or above, as well as any applicant with CPA, CFA, ACCA, CFP, FRM, PMP or any other senior professional title.

Online interview is planned for the 2023 entrance interview. The form of the 2023 entrance interview for SJTU Master of Technology Transfer program will be adjusted according to the epidemic prevention and control and the requirements of superior authorities.

The 2023 entrance interview for the Master of Technology Transfer program will be in the form of individual interview, with a total duration of about 30 minutes

  • Self-introduction in Chinese: Self-introduction in Chinese for no more than 5 minutes with PPT. The content of PPT may include personal education experience, working experience and major performance, analysis of personal strength and weakness, reasons for choosing the Master of Technology Transfer program, views on the future of the industry, planning for the next ten years, specialties and hobbies, etc., with a total of 5--10 slides.
  • Personal interview in Chinese: A comprehensive assessment of the overall quality and innovative ability of the applicant.
  • Oral English interview:to examine the English proficiency of the applicant.

 

4. Online application for the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination

he online application for the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination will be held in October 2022, from 9:00 to 22:00 every day.

The exact deadline is subject to the announcement of the Ministry of Education, and applicants can log onto the website of "Chinese Graduate Admissions Information" to check.

5. On-site/online confirmation

On-site confirmation will be carried out in November, and applicants shall print the admission card and bring their ID card, diploma of graduation, academic certificate, social security record and other materials as required.

The specific time and place of confirmation shall be subject to the notice of the Ministry of Education and the examination center.

6. Take the 2023 National Postgraduate Entrance Examination

RMB 50,000 for any new student of the Master of Technology Transfer program who acts as the chairman, general manager or chief technology officer of any technology-based or financial state-owned enterprise, Fortune 500 enterprise, main board or science and technology board listed company and their relevant subsidiary or branch. Applicant shall apply for this scholarship independently and make a defense after being eligible for pre-admission, and the scholarship will be granted based upon the result of the defense. Specific application requirements and rules for defense will be announced together with the pre-admission result for 2023.

 
6. Scholarship for Excellence

RMB 50,000 for any new student of the Master of Technology Transfer program who acts as the senior or middle-level core member of any professional technology transfer organization. Applicant shall apply for this scholarship independently and make a defense after being eligible for pre-admission and being recommended by his/her organization or employer, and the scholarship will be granted based upon the result of the defense. Specific application requirements and rules for defense will be announced together with the pre-admission result for 2023.

* The principle of “only one highest scholarship prevails” applies to all types of new students’ scholarships.

 
II. Comprehensive Scholarship for On-campus Students of the Master of Technology Transfer program (starting from the batch of 2022)

It is awarded to any second-year student in the Master of Technology Transfer program who has excellent academic performance, leadership and teamwork skills, and is actively involved in student work and social practice.

Early interview

Is it necessary to apply for an early interview? Can I apply for only one batch or all five batches?

A: In principle, any applicant who applies for the SJTU Master of Technology Transfer program is required to attend the early interview. If you're not eligible for pre-admission after the early interview, you can apply for the regular interview after the announcement of the entrance examination result. If you are not in the name list for an early interview, your background assessment score will be compared with that of other applicants later on, and you may be allowed to have the next batch/round of early interview.

 

If I'm on the early interview name list but fail to get the pre-admission eligibility in the end, and my entrance examination score reaches the minimum score for re-examination, then in case of the regular interview, do I still need to complete the application information online for the interview?

A: If you apply for the Master of Technology Transfer program of the same year, then you do not need to file the application information online anymore, but you should apply whether you will attend the regular interview which is subject to confirmation. If you apply for a regular interview, the interview result will be dependent on your regular interview result; if you don't apply for a regular interview, the result of the early interview will prevail.

 

For the scanned copy of originals required to be uploaded for early interview, is it required to be stamped by the HR department?

A: Except for the salary certificate issued by the company, for all scanned copies uploaded, no supporting document from the company is required. For example, no company stamp is required for the organization chart; in addition to the salary certificate issued by the company, equivalent salary proofs such as tax payment certificate and provident fund payment certificate can also be used instead of the salary certificate. The background check will be held at the stage of pre-admission, which means when the pre-admission name list is determined, which is often in April - June, we may check your information with your HR head or your referee(s). Once the materials submitted by the applicant are found to be false, we reserve the right to cancel his/her eligibility for admission and academic registration.

 

How to obtain the original transcript of higher education? As both the original and photocopy of the "complete transcripts of all higher education stages" are required, if I get a bachelor's degree based on my junior college education, do I have to provide the original undergraduate transcript only or together with the original junior college transcript?

A: You can obtain your higher education transcripts from the academic affairs office of your school or the archive center. The photocopies can be made either from your school files or from your archive, and the official seal of the relevant department is required. If you get a bachelor's degree based on junior college education, the original transcripts of both stages are required.

 

Is a letter of recommendation in English only acceptable? Can relatives act as the referee?

A: English letter is acceptable, but it is suggested that the referee should not write the letter in a non-English foreign language in order to avoid reading obstacles to the interviewer and background checker. There is no mandatory requirement for the referee, but in general, the referee is required to know more about the applicant's situation and have a good reputation, such as a direct leader at work. Immediate family members are generally not suitable for writing the recommendation letter for the applicant.

 

In case I have an employment relationship with a project company, but now serve for the parent company's business, then for the organization chart to be attached to the application, is the organization chart of the parent company or that of the project company required?

A: The most underlying "legal entity" with which the applicant has an employment relationship shall prevail.

 

I am actually doing my startup business, but the legal representative of the startup company is not me, how do I fill in the relevant information?

A: In principle, supporting materials are required for all application information, so you may fill in any information which can be proven and do not provide those that cannot be proven. You will not be considered as starting your own business if no valid evidence can be provided to prove that you are the owner of the company.

 

Is there a fee for the early interview?

A: There is no charge for the early interview of SJTU's Master of Technology Transfer program.

 

If I'm eligible for an early interview, but I'm unable to attend for some reason, can I apply for an extension?

A: If the applicant is eligible for early interview, but unable to attend it for some reason, he/she will be regarded as waiving the eligibility for the relevant interview and will have to compete with other applicants for the eligibility for the next interview.

 

Can I submit the recommendation letter in paper?

A: No, you can't. All applications should be made online. The applicant is only required to fill in the referee's information online, select the language of the recommendation letter template, and click "send" directly.

What types of talents does the Master of Technology Transfer program cultivate?

A: The Master of Technology Transfer program aims to cultivate students who are focused on technology strategic planning and technological innovation financing and have a sense of mission to promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements in China, making them inter-disciplinary leaders who can systematically master the technology transfer theories with technology strategic planning abilities, the financing knowledge and capabilities of innovative high-tech enterprise , as well as the capabilities of commercialization of cutting-edge technologies, the two-way integration of technology and finance, and the research and analysis of specific industries.

 

What are the courses in the Master of Technology Transfer program?

A: The curriculum is planned to be divided into four modules: public fundamentals, professional fundamentals, professional elective courses and professional practice. Students will make further studies in leadership, project management, financial investment, intellectual property right, product development, business model, technological innovation valuation, etc.

A: As a university-wide program of SJTU, the Master of Technology Transfer program integrates the first-class faculty members from several secondary colleges and schools, and scientific research institutes of SJTU, such as Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, School of Medicine, KoGuan School of Law, School of International and Public Affairs, School of Material Science and Engineering and School of Biomedical Engineering, and numerous industry experts with abundant experience in relevant fields.

How to apply

What are the education and work experience requirements for applying for SJTU'S Master of Technology Transfer program?

A: Graduate with a master's degree and 2-year or more working experience, or graduate with a bachelor's degree and 3-year or more working experience.

 

Can junior college graduates apply for the examination?

A: Graduate with only junior college background cannot apply for the examination.

 

Can people without science and engineering education background apply for the Master of Technology Transfer program?

A: The Master of Technology Transfer program has relatively broad education background requirements. Welcome you to apply for the program as long as you have a strong interest in the field of technology transfer, or your career development plan is aligned with the field of technology transfer.

 

Can I apply for the examination with only a diploma of graduation as I have no certificate of degree (bachelor's)?

A: You can apply for the examination even without a degree certificate as long as you satisfy requirement of the length of working experience.

 

For those who obtain their bachelor's degree through self-taught examination, can the working experience during part-time study be counted?

A: No, it cannot be counted. You may apply for the examination only if your length of working experience calculated from when you get your certificate of academic education meets the relevant requirement for application.

 

Can the applicant who has received a degree from abroad apply for the examination?

A: The applicant who has obtained a degree from abroad must perform the verification at the Foreign Academic Education and Degree Verification System of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange of the Ministry of Education (http://zwfw.cscse.edu.cn/) and the application for examination can only be made after the successful verification.

 

What are the restrictions on current military personnel who apply for the examination?

A: Current military personnel are subject to the same eligibility requirements for examination application as other personnel, without any special restriction. However, the training category must be "entrusted training" rather than "self-funded", that is, an agreement for entrusted training must be executed by his/her organization with the school when admitted.

 

Is there any age limit for the Technology Transfer program?

A: There is no age limit. The Master of Technology Transfer program of SJTU is committed to cultivating inter-disciplinary innovative talents, regardless of age or job title.

 

Is on-site confirmation mandatory after the online application? What are the main contents of the on-site confirmation and eligibility review?

A: On-site confirmation is not mandatory, and you are only required to confirm your online application information, pay the application fee and upload your photo online, and the notice released at SJTU Graduate Admission (http://yzb.sjtu.edu.cn) shall prevail.

Written Examination (National Postgraduate Entrance Examination)

What are the subjects of the entrance examination for Master of Technology Transfer program? Are there any examination outlines and reference books available? Is there any tutorial class?

A: The subjects of the entrance examination are Comprehensive Competence and English. The Comprehensive Competence examination consists of mathematics, logic and writing and constitutes 200 points, and English is 100 points. For the entrance exam outlines and tutorial materials, please refer to the book list for management entrance exam. There is no tutorial class offered by SJTU's Master of Technology Transfer program. If any less capable applicant intends to attend a tutorial class, it is suggested to join Taiqi Education, Taiqi MBA, Huazhang, Zhongkai, Huashi or other tutorial classes.

 

Does SJTU's Master of Technology Transfer program accept any applicant for Japanese, Russian or other non-English languages?

A: At present, only applicants who take the English examination are accepted.

 

Is the entrance exam a national entrance exam? Is there any exam exemption or admission first & exam afterwards policy? Can I attend the courses in technology transfer as an audit student?

A: All applicants may only be admitted with a score passing the minimum score of the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination for admission, and there is no exemption or admission first & exam afterwards policy. Due to the tight teaching resources and to ensure the quality of classroom teaching, auditing is not allowed for technology transfer courses.

 

Can the applicant outside Shanghai who applies for SJTU's Technology Transfer program take the written examination at the place where he/she is located?

A. Yes, you can. Please refer to the national enrollment regulations and the notices of the examination center for the year for details. Applicants in Shanghai must choose "Shanghai Jiao Tong University 3105" as the examination center when applying for the examination. In general, the location of the written examination is Minhang Campus of SJTU.

 

In addition to the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination (written exam), what other examinations should I take?

A: You must also take the interview and political exam (open-book written exam with a pass required only) of the Master of Technology Transfer program of SJTU.

Re-examination (including interview)

What are included in the re-examination result?

A: The re-examination result is composed of the background assessment, oral English and comprehensive competence interview result.

 

How to take the political exam?

A: The political exam is an open-book written exam, with exam questions prepared and outlines provided by the Graduate School, SJTU. The political exam is a passing-type examination, and the score will not be counted in the total score.

Admission and Adjustment

What is the admission principle of SJTU's Technology Transfer program? How much weight do the written test score and interview score have respectively in the regular admission?

A: After the results of the entrance examination are announced, the pre-admission rules of the Master of Technology Transfer program will be announced: Any applicant who has attended the early interview and is qualified for pre-admission can be pre-admitted directly if his/her entrance examination score passes the minimum score for re-examination and he/she passes the political examination, meanwhile any applicant whose entrance examination score passes the minimum score for re-examination will be admitted based on the selection according to his/her application and ranking in total scores, which consist of "written exam score" + "interview score" + "additional scores", from the highest to the lowest. The written exam score and interview score are 300 points each, and the additional score is 20 points or 10 points, which is obtained from the early interview.

 

Does the length of working experience have an impact on admission?

A: No different threshold is set for applicants in terms of the length of working experience, and there is no direct relation between the length of working experience and the admission. Any applicant who satisfies the application requirements and has an excellent performance in both the preliminary examination and the re-examination will be admitted, regardless of the length of working experience.

 

Can I apply for transfer to ACEM, SJTU if I choose another school during the entrance examination application?

A: At present, no adjustment application from any applicant whose first choice is another school is accepted.

 

If I apply for transfer from SJTU to the school of second choice, do I have to contact the second-choice school in person?

A: Yes. Since schools have different admission schedules, it is suggested that you apply to the second-choice school for adjustment and transfer once you learn that you're not admitted here, no matter whether or not you have applied for a second choice when applying for the examination.

 

Does the school provide adjustment and transfer admission information for applicants?

A: The Master of Technology Transfer Program of SJTU releases information on institutions which accept adjustment and transfer every year to help applicants applying for adjustment admission.  Therefore, in the adjustment admission stage, applicants can check relevant adjustment and transfer information on the website of SJTU-BOC Institute of Technology & Finance.

 

Foreign Students and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Students

How do international students apply for the Master of Technology Transfer program?

A: At present, the Master of Technology Transfer program does not accept any application from international students.

 

How do Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students apply for the Master of Technology Transfer program of SJTU?

A: At present, the Master of Technology Transfer program does not accept any application from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students.

 

 

Others

How many students are awarded scholarship each year? What are the requirements for scholarships?

A: There is no scholarship program for the Master of Technology Transfer students enrolled in 2022, and the scholarship program for the Master of Technology Transfer students enrolled in 2023 is to be announced.

 

Can on-the-job technology transfer students apply for transferring their household register?

A: The part-time study mode is adopted for the Master of Technology Transfer program, so no application is accepted for transferring household register from any student of the Master of Technology Transfer program.

 

Can I apply for the Ph.D. admission examination after receiving my Master of Technology Transfer?

A: Yes, you can apply for such examination if you have obtained your master's degree certificate in technology transfer and meet other requirements for applying for a doctoral degree.
