Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and jointly built by the Ministry of Education and Shanghai Municipality, whose predecessor was Nanyang Public School founded in 1896. It is one of the most time-honored higher education institutions in the history of China. SJTU has nurtured more than 100,000 outstanding talents for the country, including a group of outstanding politicians, social activists, industrialists and scientists, such as Jiang Zemin, Lu Dingyi, Ding Guangen, Wang Daohan, Qian Xuesen, Huang Xuhua and other famous alumni, who have made significant contributions to the prosperity of the country and the development of science and technology.
Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) also shares a profound history. In 1903, Mr. Sheng Xuanhuai, the father of modern business in China and the founder of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, petitioned the Dynasty Qing government to set up “Nanyang Advanced Business School”. The Railway Management program was established in 1918; then in 1979, the Department of Industrial Management was established, and the major of management was rebuilt; in 1984, SJTU reinstated the Management School with the approval of the Ministry of Education; in 1996, Aetna Group from the USA funded the development of the Management School with SJTU, which was renamed Antai Management School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2000; in March 2006, it was renamed Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM), Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU); in 2015, ACEM was relocated and returned to the century-old Xuhui campus.
The MBA program of ACEM SJTU is a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program recognized by the Ministry of Education and the Office of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee for academic and degree education. The program has been running for 26 years since 1994, and has enrolled more than 10,000 MBA students. SJTU Antai MBA program is dedicated to cultivating business leaders and industry elites with upright conduct, board vision, solid foundation, strong innovation ability and profound cultural background. In the past 20 years, the program has worked hard on the standard, quality, brand and characteristic development, with a sound brand effect created. ACEM is the only local business school in China listed in the world’s top 100 for eight consecutive years, according to the latest Global MBA Ranking for 2021 released by Financial Times (FT). ACEM MBA also ranks No. 1 and No. 15 in FT’s Top MBA for Women and Global MBA Ranking for Finance, respectively. In addition, ACEM’s MBA program is the only local business school in Chinese mainland listed in QS Global MBA Rankings: Top 100 MBA Programs for two consecutive years (2020-2021).
In the list of “Double First-Class” Universities and Disciplines announced by the Ministry of Education, the "Business and Management" discipline of SJTU is the only economic and management discipline selected in Yangtze River Delta region. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation and the first round of professional-degree evaluation, both the first-class discipline of Business Administration and the MBA program of SJTU are ranked A+. In the Asia-Pacific Business School Rankings released by Financial Times, ACEM SJTU has been No. 1 for the second year in a row. In 2008 and 2011, ACEM SJTU was accredited by three authoritative international top management education systems, namely AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB respectively, thus becoming the first triple-accredited business school in Chinese mainland. Now ACEM embarks on its new-century journey and is carrying out a reform focusing on industry research with the strategy of "two types of scholarship, horizontal (academic) and vertical (industry), reinforcing each other and connecting theory with practice", which attracts the attention of business schools around the world.

Note: The final admission quota shall be subject to the admission plan issued by the state and the adjustment and allocation by the school according to the source of students and examination conditions.
The admission of MBA students is divided into two categories: directional and non-directional. For directional MBA students, a directional training agreement will be concluded among the school, the student and his/her organization with the training fees to be paid by such organization or student. For non-directional MBA students, the training agreement will be executed between the student and the school with the training fees to be paid by the student individually. Part-time postgraduate students are generally admitted in a directional employment type without transfer of household register or individual archive.
The school provides no welfare to MBA students during the academic years, and students shall pay for teaching materials, accommodation and other fees and expenses individually.
The master's thesis of MBA students is prepared based on their major or research considerations under the guidance of their supervisors. Those who pass the course examinations, take the required credits, prepare the master's thesis and pass the thesis defense within the specified years will be awarded the postgraduate diploma and MBA degree certificate by Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) after examination and approval.
CLGO students who apply for and satisfy the requirements of degree-awarding will also receive a Master of Engineering Management (MEM) degree certificate from SJTU.
Full-time IMBA program: RMB 328,000, payable in two annual installments, 50% and 50% respectively.
Full-time CLGO program: RMB 328,000, payable in three annual installments, 40%, 40% and 20% respectively.

In order to encourage MBA students to study hard for all-around development, constantly enhance their innovative spirit and practical ability, expand international vision, and improve the comprehensive quality, Antai MBA program has increased the scholarships since the fall of 2011: First, the total annual scholarship amount of Antai MBA program has been increased from RMB 5 million to more than RMB 25 million, of which nearly RMB 10 million was increased in 2021, which are used to reward new students' enrollment, course study, second classroom, entrepreneurial practice, overseas exchange, overseas study tour, student activities, etc. Second, the coverage of scholarships has been expanded from 30% to over 60%, with over 500 rewards offered to students.

Online interview is planned for the 2023 entrance interview. The form of the 2023 entrance interview will be adjusted by SJTU according to the epidemic prevention and control and the requirements of superior authorities.
The minimum score of 2023 MBA entrance examination will refer to the score line of eastern schools of the National Management Entrance Examination and the basic admission principles are as follows:
① Applicants who participate in the early interview and are eligible for the pre-admission based on the minimum score set by the state can be directly pre-admitted if their national entrance examination score passes the minimum score set by the state and they pass the political examination;
② Other applicants whose entrance examination score passes the minimum score set by the state will be admitted based on their ranking in total scores, which consist of "written exam score + interview score + additional scores", from the highest to the lowest.
In terms of the admission process, SJTU's Antai MBA program adheres to the basic principles of "fairness, justice, openness and public trust" and proceeds with the admission in the following five steps.

It is awarded to any second-year student in the Tech-Finance MBA program who has excellent academic performance, leadership and teamwork skills, and is actively involved in student work and social practice.
Antai MBA students can apply for a dual-degree program, and outstanding Antai MBA students will have the opportunity to study for one year in a famous overseas school in partnership with ACEM, and can get a degree from such school once meeting their academic degree requirements. In order to encourage and reward more students to participate in the dual degree program, the dual degree scholarship is specially set up and students who successfully obtain the academic degree from the partner school can receive the scholarship after graduating from the Antai MBA program.
All Antai MBA students have a chance to participate in international exchange study once during their study period, mainly in the form of course study in the world's leading business school for three to six months, and Antai MBA program provides overseas exchange opportunities for over 80 students every year. The Overseas Exchange Scholarship is specially set up to encourage and reward more students to actively participate in exchange study and anyone who successfully completes the overseas exchange can receive the scholarship.
In order to encourage active application for the CFA exam, all Tech-Finance MBA students who take and pass the CFA exam during their studies can receive the funding for the application fee or examination fee.
In order to encourage MBA students to actively participate in entrepreneurial practice, Antai MBA program especially sets up Antai MBA Venture Fund, which invests RMB 4 million each year to fund the entrepreneurship of SJTU's Antai MBA students, with RMB 300,000~500,000 for each project.

What is the duration of the Tech-Finance MBA program? Can I extend my study period because of my work?
A: The duration of Tech-Finance MBA is 2.5 years, for which no extension is permitted generally. If you need to extend the study period for special reasons, you must submit an extension application to the Graduate School for approval. The maximum study period of Tech-Finance MBA students cannot exceed 3.5 years (including suspension of study).
Can students outside Shanghai apply for SJTU Antai Part-time MBA programs? When is the class scheduled? Is there any form of distance learning?
A. Yes, you can. Tech-Finance MBA program has its courses in the evenings of 1- 2 weekdays and a full day at weekends. At present, there is no distance learning available for the Tech-Finance MBA program.
What are the characteristics of Tech-Finance MBA?
The Tech-Finance MBA program is designed to implement the national strategy by promoting the empowerment of finance to technology and the innovative development of technology industries, to support Shanghai to accelerate the construction of a science and technology innovation center with global influence, and to create an interdisciplinary platform for management, finance, engineering, law, artificial intelligence, etc. The program is committed to cultivating high-level inter-disciplinary management talents with both theory and practice, as well as an international vision and a technological innovation spirit to empower the commercialization of advances in science and technology by finance.
Can Tech-Finance MBA students apply for a dual degree or an overseas exchange?
A: The dual degree program and overseas exchange program are open to all SJTU Antai MBA students, but IMBA students generally have the priority to apply for programs with scholarships or subsidies offered by partner schools. This is mainly due to the financial pressure and opportunity cost during the study period of IMBA students and the more obstacles faced by part-time students to go abroad. English performance is very important in the selection of dual degree and overseas exchange programs. Many international universities have requirements on GMAT, TOEFL or IELTS scores for applicants, and also give consideration to the score ranking and social activities done during the school years.
If I want to apply for Tech-Finance MBA without any financial education background or working experience in the finance industry or with less basic knowledge on finance, then is it impossible for me to pass the interview for the program?
A: Financial background (financial expertise or financial industry working experience) is one of the factors, but not an absolute factor.
Is it necessary to apply for an early interview? Can I apply for only one batch or all six batches?
A: In principle, any applicant who applies for the SJTU Antai Tech-Finance MBA program is required to attend the early interview. If you are not eligible for pre-admission based on the minimum score set by the state after the early interview, you can apply for the regular interview after the announcement of the entrance examination result. If you are not in the name list for an early interview, your background assessment score will be compared with that of other applicants later on, and you may be allowed to have the next round of early interview.
If I'm on the early interview name list but fail to get the pre-admission eligibility in the end based on the minimum score set by the state, and my entrance examination score reaches the minimum score for re-examination, then in case of the regular interview, do I still need to complete the application information online for the interview?
A: If you apply for an MBA program of the same year, then you do not need to file the application information online anymore, but you should apply whether you will attend the regular interview which is subject to confirmation. If you apply for a regular interview, the interview result will be dependent on your regular interview result; if you don't apply for a regular interview, the result of the early interview will prevail.
For the scanned copy of originals required to be uploaded for early interview, is it required to be stamped by the HR department?
A: Except for the salary certificate issued by the company, for all scanned copies uploaded, no supporting document from the company is required. For example, no company stamp is required for the organization chart; in addition to the salary certificate issued by the company, equivalent salary proofs such as tax payment certificate and provident fund payment certificate can also be used instead of the salary certificate. The background check will be held at the stage of pre-admission, which means when the pre-admission name list is determined, which is often in April - June, we may check your information with your HR head or your referee(s). Once the materials submitted by the applicant are found to be false, we reserve the right to cancel his/her eligibility for admission and academic registration.
How to obtain the original transcript of higher education? As both the original and photocopy of the "complete transcripts of all higher education stages" are required, if I get a bachelor's degree based on my junior college education, do I have to provide the original undergraduate transcript only or together with the original junior college transcript?
A: You can obtain your higher education transcripts from the academic affairs office of your school or the archive center. The photocopies can be made either from your school files or from your archive, and the official seal of the relevant department is required. If you get a bachelor's degree based on junior college education, the original transcripts of both stages are required.
Is a letter of recommendation in English only acceptable? Can relatives act as the referee?
A: English letter is acceptable, but it is suggested that the referee should not write the letter in a non-English foreign language in order to avoid reading obstacles to the interviewer and background checker. There is no mandatory requirement for the referee, but in general, the referee is required to know more about the applicant's situation and have a good reputation, such as a direct leader at work. Immediate family members are generally not suitable for writing the recommendation letter for the applicant.
In case I have an employment relationship with a project company, but now serve for the parent company's business, then for the organization chart to be attached to the application, is the organization chart of the parent company or that of the project company required?
A: The most underlying "legal entity" with which the applicant has an employment relationship shall prevail.
I am actually doing my startup business, but the legal representative of the startup company is not me, how do I fill in the relevant information?
A: In principle, supporting materials are required for all application information, so you may fill in any information which can be proven and do not provide those that cannot be proven. You will not be considered as starting your own business if no valid evidence can be provided to prove that you are the owner of the company.
Is there a fee for the early interview?
A: There is no charge for the early interview of the Tech-Finance MBA program.
If I'm eligible for an early interview, but I'm unable to attend for some reason, can I apply for an extension?
A: If the applicant is eligible for an early interview, but unable to attend it for some reason, he/she will be regarded as waiving the eligibility for the relevant interview and will have to compete with other applicants for the eligibility for the next interview.
Can I submit the recommendation letter in paper?
A: No, you can't. All applications should be made online. The applicant is only required to fill in the referee's information online, select the language of the recommendation letter template, and click "send" directly.
What are the education and work experience requirements for applying for the Tech-Finance MBA program?
A: As of the expected enrollment date (September 2023), anyone who has worked for 3 years or more after graduation from university (with a diploma obtained before August 2020), or anyone who has worked for 5 years or more after graduation from junior college (with a diploma obtained before August 2018), or who has obtained a master's or doctoral degree with 2 years or more working experience (degree certificate obtained before August 2021).
Is there any special requirement or additional condition for junior college graduates? Can students with only an undergraduate diploma of adult education (without a degree certificate) apply for the examination?
A: There is no additional condition for junior college graduates. Anyone who has a junior college diploma recognized by China and meets corresponding application requirements can apply for the examination. Students with an adult education background or an undergraduate diploma upgraded from junior college can also apply for the examination if they graduate from the junior college or other national higher education series approved by the Ministry of Education.
Can I apply for the examination with only a diploma of graduation as I have no certificate of degree (bachelor's)?
A. Yes, you can.
For those who obtain their bachelor's degree through self-taught examination, can the working experience during part-time study be counted?
A: No, it cannot be counted. You may apply for the examination only if your length of working experience calculated from when you get your certificate of academic education meets the relevant requirement for application.
Can the applicant who has received a degree from abroad apply for the examination?
A: The applicant who has obtained a degree from abroad must perform the verification at the Foreign Academic Education and Degree Verification System of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange of the Ministry of Education (http://zwfw.cscse.edu.cn/) and the application for examination can only be made after the successful verification.
What are the restrictions on current military personnel who apply for the examination?
A: Current military personnel are subject to the same eligibility requirements for examination application as other personnel, without any special restriction. However, the training category must be "entrusted training" rather than "self-funded", that is, an agreement for entrusted training must be executed by his/her organization with the school when admitted.
Is on-site confirmation mandatory after the online application? What are the main contents of the on-site confirmation and eligibility review?
A: On-site confirmation is not mandatory, and you are only required to confirm your online application information, pay the application fee and upload your photo online, and the notice released at SJTU Graduate Admission (http://yzb.sjtu.edu.cn) shall prevail.
What are the subjects of the national entrance examination for the Master of Business Administration program? Are there any examination outlines and reference books available? Is there any tutorial class offered by ACEM SJTU?
A: The subjects of the national entrance examination for the Master of Business Administration program are Comprehensive Competence and English. The Comprehensive Competence examination consists of mathematics, logic and writing and constitutes 200 points, and English is 100 points. For MBA entrance exam outlines and tutorial materials, please refer to the "National MBA Entrance Examination Outline" and the "Tutorial Text Book of the National MBA Entrance Examination" organized and compiled by National MBA Education Steering Committee and published by Higher Education Press. There is no tutorial class offered by ACEM SJTU. If any less capable applicant intends to attend a tutorial class, it is suggested to join Taiqi Education, Taiqi MBA, Huazhang, Zhongkai, Huashi or other tutorial classes.
Does the Tech-Finance MBA program accept any applicant for Japanese, Russian or other non-English languages?
A: At present, only applicants who take the English examination are accepted.
Is the entrance exam a national entrance exam? Is there any exam exemption or admission first & exam afterwards policy? Can I attend the courses in Tech-Finance MBA as an audit student?
A: All applicants may only be admitted with a score passing the minimum score of the National Postgraduate Entrance Examination for admission, and there is no exemption or admission first & exam afterwards policy. Due to the tight teaching resources and to ensure the quality of classroom teaching, auditing is not allowed for Tech-Finance MBA courses.
Can the applicant outside Shanghai who applies for the Tech-Finance MBA program take the written examination at the place where he/she is located?
A. Yes, you can. Please refer to the national enrollment regulations and the requirements of the examination center for the year for details. Applicants in Shanghai must choose "Shanghai Jiao Tong University 3105" as the examination center when applying for the examination. What are included in the re-examination result?
A: The re-examination result is composed of the background assessment, oral English and comprehensive competence interview result.
How to take the political exam?
A: The political exam is an open-book written exam, with exam questions prepared and outlines provided by the Graduate School, SJTU. The political exam is a passing-type examination, and the score will not be counted in the total score.
What is the admission principle of the Tech-Finance MBA program? How much weight do the written test score and interview score have respectively in the regular admission?
A: After the results of the entrance examination are announced, SJTU Antai MBA program will announce its pre-admission rules: Any applicant who has attended the early interview and is qualified for pre-admission based on the minimum score set by the state can be pre-admitted directly if his/her entrance examination score passes the minimum score set by the state and he/she passes the political examination, meanwhile any other applicant whose entrance examination score passes the minimum score set by the state will be admitted based on their ranking in total scores, which consist of "written exam score + interview score + "additional scores", from the highest to the lowest. The written exam score and interview score are 300 points each, and the additional score is 10 points or 5 points, which is obtained from the early interview.
Does the length of working experience have an impact on admission?
A: No different threshold is set for applicants in terms of the length of working experience, and there is no direct relation between the length of working experience and the admission. Any applicant who satisfies the application requirements and has an excellent performance in both the preliminary examination and the re-examination will be admitted, regardless of the length of working experience.
Can I apply for transfer to ACEM SJTU if I choose another school during the entrance examination application?
A: Tech-Finance MBA only accepts applicants who apply for the program as the first choice, and does not accept adjustment and transfer admission.
If I apply for transfer from SJTU ACEM to the school of the second choice, do I have to contact the second-choice school in person?
A: Yes. Since schools have different admission schedules, it is suggested that you apply to the second-choice school for adjustment once you learn that you're not admitted by ACEM, no matter whether or not you have applied for a second choice when applying for the examination.
Does the school provide adjustment and transfer admission information for applicants?
A: SJTU Antai MBA releases information on institutions that accept adjustment and transfer every year to help applicants applying for adjustment admission. Therefore, in the adjustment admission stage, applicants can often check relevant adjustment and transfer information on the website of SJTU Antai MBA (http://mba.sjtu.edu.cn-enrollment dynamic column).

How do Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students apply for SJTU Antai MBA?
A: The application and examination arrangements for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions are different from those for mainland applicants. For example, for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to be enrolled in September 2020, the application is usually made in December 2019, and the early interview is in December 2019 or January 2020, and written examination in April 2020. The examination papers are prepared by SJTU, and then students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are organized to take the examination. Examination application centers are set up in Guangzhou, Beijing, Macao, Hong Kong and Shanghai. Applicants can choose to apply for SJTU Antai MBA program with any of the above application centers, and take the entrance examination at the date and place designated. SJTU Antai MBA has launched the early interview policy for applicants from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan since 2012. Applicants with outstanding performance in the early interview can be admitted directly if their written test scores pass the minimum score of SJTU. Can Tech-Finance MBA students apply for transferring their household register?
A: The study mode of Tech-Finance MBA is part-time study, so no application is accepted for transferring household register from any Tech-Finance MBA students.
Can I apply for the Ph.D. admission examination after receiving my Tech-Finance MBA?
A: Yes, you can apply for such examination if you have obtained your MBA degree certificate and meet other requirements for applying for a doctoral degree.
