Xianwei Shi is an Assistant Professor of Management and Organizations at Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Prior to joining Shanghai Jiao Tong University, he worked as a research associate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Imperial College Business School.

Xianwei Shi obtained his Ph.D. in Engineering (Manufacturing and Management) and Master of Philosophy in Industrial Systems, Manufacturing and Management from the Institute for Manufacturing, University of Cambridge. He got his bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University.

Xianwei Shi’s research has mainly focused on Firms' Innovation Ecosystems and Regional Entrepreneurial Ecosystems: dynamics, governance, and competitions. He mainly use qualitative methods to explore issues in innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems. His research has appeared at the Research Policy, Management and Organization Review, and Small Business Economics, among others.
