Awards & Honors
Dr. Yan focuses mainly on the research and development of electrokinetic separation techniques, instrument and their applications. With experimental and theoretical studies, Dr. Yan has made initiate achievements and great contributions to the research and development of capillary electrochromatography (CEC). He leads the world in scientific publications on CEC with more than 180 articles (total cited number up to 1000) and has been invited to speak in numerous international conferences. He holds more than 30 patents in design and manufacturing of CEC instrument and capillary columns, contributing significantly to solving a variety of problems in chemical and biological analyses. He was the principle investigator of more than 30 research projects sponsored by the national and local governments, including National Key Technologies R & D Programs of China during the 9th and 15th Five-Year Plans Period, High-technological Industrialization Project of National Development and Reform Commission, National Natural Science Foundation of China, international cooperation projects with USA & Belgium, SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) Technology Innovation Fund of Ministry of Science and Technology, and Shanghai Scientific and Technological Projects, etc. In 2011, he successfully gained research funding of National Major Scientific Instruments Development Project.
